VonBon Family Sightings

Friday Mckenna and I packed up and headed off to Iowa. We are still in Iowa but Mckenna has hit a milestone. ROLLING OVER... yes that is what I said... ROLLING OVER!!! I have to learn how to attach a video in the new blogger format so that is to come. For now here are a few pictures from our Iowa adventures.

Lovin' the sunshine!

Seriously, I think we have the cutest, happiest baby in the world! We are so happy that spring is on its way!  Mckenna and I went for a nice walk yesterday when I got home from work and then we joined daddy for some BBQing! Mckenna was happy to jump in her jumperoo outside instead of in the stuffy house. If you notice she still has to stand on a pillow... but she is ALMOST tall enough to jump without it! You will also notice we had to put a coat on before it was time to go in... it was getting a little chilly, and after an ER visit for and ear infection last week, I wanted to play it safe!

Man I love this nice weather! We will have such a nice spring if this keeps up. I noticed yesterday that my Day Lillies are peeking out of the ground!!!!

This weekend was a lot of fun. We went back to Cedar Rapids to the Mount Mercy Athletic Alumni Weekend. We really had a good time seeing our friends and introducing Mckenna to new people. She did very well on both car rides and was great the whole weekend. She really enjoyed some special time with Grandpa and Grandma VonBon while mommy and daddy had a night out and a nights sleep without waking up to stick a binki back into someone's mouth!

See all of you IOWANS in just a few days!

Lucas Family Sightings....

This week was full of Lucas family events. Tuesday night we celebrated Great Grandma Lucas's birthday and Saturday Mckenna and I went to Shawn's baby shower. Shawn and his girlfriend Monica will be having a baby boy in the near future. It was nice to spend some time with the family and snap a few pictures too!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

How many toys can you play with at once?

Well, Mckenna is playing with 3 different toys in this picture! It made me giggle when I noticed it! She is holding a rattle between her ear and her shoulder (preparations for talking on the phone and multitasking), chewing on the teething ring, and grasping the round thing that looks like a Ferris Wheel.

These two pictures DEFINE our Sunday this weekend. We spent it snuggling with Mckenna! So much snuggling that I think Mckenna missed it in her sleep last night. We didn't have a very good sleeping night!

All in all we had a good weekend. Matt and I went to the Mouse Races at the Carpenters Union with Matt's parents on Saturday night and Mckenna stayed in with Aunt Kelly. We are looking forward to a weekend with no plans next weekend.

Love to you all! Have a good week!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a fun weekend this weekend. Friday night some friends from college came to town and Saturday we went downtown for the Mardi Gras celebration in St. Louis. It was a lot of fun.

Sunday we stayed in most of the day and enjoyed some time as a family. Mckenna had a good first Valentine's day.
Look at my cool new sunglasses that Grandpa and Grandma VonBon sent me for Valentine's Day!
Oh yeah... and the swimsuit to match! :)

4 Month Check Up

Mckenna had her 4 month check up yesterday, here are the stats...
Weight: 12lbs         Height: 24in

The doctor said that she is amazingly alert for her age and was surprised that she is noticing strangers already. We are so proud of our little peanut! She is in the 10th percentile for weight and the 30th percentile for her height. The doctor said that she is not yet ready for solid foods yet because she is not consuming enough formula in a day.

All is good in the Lucas house! We are looking forward to a good weekend!
