Matt returned to work on Tuesday and Mom went home Sunday so that left me home with Mckenna and the dogs the rest of the week. We thought Mckenna was on a "schedule" until Friday... She was up most the day... and woke up every two hours that night. However, knock on wood, she seems to have gone back to the old "schedule" and slept really well on Saturday and Sunday night. Her favorite hours to be awake are from 9pm to 11pm. It really kinda stinks! But... this too we will live through.
Friday night Grandma and Grandpa Lucas came over to spend some time with Mckenna while Matt and I went out on a "date". We were gone about 2 hours and it was nice to be out of the house. On Saturday Mom and Dad brought Grandma VonBon to St. Louis to meet Mckenna. It was so nice to have them here again. We had some unruly trees that needed to be trimmed and Matt and Dad worked on that Saturday afternoon. Sunday we had a great home cooked meal by mom for lunch before they hit the road. We just love having them here!
This week Mckenna enjoyed the discover mat that Aunt Marge and Uncle Jim brought her last weekend and she seemed to love getting read to. Matt fed her a bottle for the first time last night and it was a success! It was nice to share this bonding experience with him! The dogs are adjusting well to Mckenna, they seem protective of her, running to her bed or bouncy seat each time she makes a noise. We are all
learning what it is like to be a family of three... or five if you count the dogs... and so far we are loving it!
